Funny Money Friday: Credit Haiku Contest

Money doesn't have to be boring! Each week, CreditBloggers.com takes a look at the lighter side of the personal finance world in a series called Funny Money Friday.

It has been a while since our last contest on CreditBloggers.com. We received great entries to the credit card warning label contest and the "you might be a credit geek" contest. It's time to test your creativity again!

Today's challenge is to write a credit haiku! Haikus are short poems with a 5 syllable line, 7 syllable line and 5 syllable line.  You can read more about haiku online here. Here are two examples to get you started:

New credit offers
with high charges and fees
go in my shredder

The credit bureaus
Equifax and TransUnion
and Experian

Of course, your haikus can be much more creative than my examples! Anything personal finance or credit related will work. Submit your entries in the comments section below before Wednesday next week. Enter as many haikus as you would like. The reader with the best haiku will win a free copy of the book Credit Scores, Credit Cards. Happy Friday!

It\'s been a while since I\'ve written a Haiku. I think the last one I wrote was back in elementary school--5th grade, maybe...anyway, CreditBloggers is having a Credit Haiku Contest. [Read More]

Comments

Here's one about what would have happened if I didn't carefully read a recent addendum to my card agreement:

Obtuse addendum
Hides change to default language
Rates soar, debt deepens

My credit report
Filled with errors and mistakes
I can't get a loan

My low credit score
Prompted me to scrimp and save
Now low score no more

Our debt load is high
We must pay our bills on time
Lest we be outside

Stupid credit cards
Tempting me to spend money
I must resist this!

I saved a penny
So I could earn a penny
Plus the interest

Credit companies
Charge us high interest rates
To make their money
