Funny Money Friday: Monopoly switches to plastic
Money doesn't have to be boring! Each week, CreditBloggers.com
takes a look at the lighter side of the personal finance world in a
series called Funny Money Friday.
A new version of Monopoly released in England has replaced the traditional pink and yellow cash with a debit
card system. This scandalous change to the classic board game has made headlines around the world! The weirdest part is that the game's debit card system is branded with Visa logos. Talk about guerrilla marketing!
Of course, this isn't the first board game to choose plastic. Mall Madness, the glorious over-consumption game, has been using credit cards since it was first released in the 1980's. My personal favorite growing up was Pay Day, which probably partially explains how I ended up in personal finance years later!
What do you think about the new Monopoly debit cards? What was your favorite board game growing up? Share your feedback in the comments section below. Happy Friday!
