Consumerism Commentary Podcast
I had a lot of fun speaking with Tom Dziubek and Flexo on their Consumerism Commentary podcast. It was a wide ranging discussion. They asked my about Credit.com's Credit Report Card (which I wrote about here, and which Consumerism Commentary reviewed here), as well as my work at Make magazine and Boing Boing, and my current obsession with building cigar box guitars and keeping bees.
If you don't read Consumerism Commentary, let me recommend it to you. Flexo (that's his pen name -- I don't know what his real name is) says he started the blog in 2003 as a way to "hold himself accountable for the state and progress of his own finances." He posted his account balance and spending so that readers could track them and share advice.
As time went on, Flexo hired other to contribute to the blog, and it is now one of my favorite personal finance sites. Flexo and his colleagues are interested in the same kinds of money-related topics that I am: the psychology of money, personal finance tips, investment strategies, life hacks (like haggling tactics), and various fun observations (like how the frequent redesign of US coins is a bad thing). In a blogosphere overcrowded with personal finance blogs, they are one of the best.
